Re-constructive Surgery, 2019
Insight — In a lifetime the average person will have the equivalent of 5 heads of hair (371.30g) unintentionally caught in the shower plug hole.
Solution — To celebrate this annoying hair I have re-purposed it as sustainable, strong and shocking bathroom appliances, creating a circular, non-plastic bathroom. Maybe the hair that clogs the drain isn’t so bad after all.
The bath mat was created by felting hair and soap together to create a thick, durable, water absorbent material. Human hair and bio-resin was then formed in a mould together to produce hard, water resistant alternatives to plastic bathroom appliances.
